Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the contributions made by peasants and indigenous people in the sugar cane production processes of Ingenio La Victoria, in the period 1995-2005. For this, a classification has been established in order to determine the origin of the workforce (in which the supply zones are considered close, medium and distant), the tasks to which they are assigned (it is determined that their contributions are given in terms of characteristics of manual and mechanized work) and within these the period in which they participate in the sugar cane economy (planting, cultivation and harvesting season); for which the time parameters are the period of belonging to the state phase and the change to production in the private company phase from 1998.
