Abstract

The present describes the quantitative investigation into the possible existence of symptoms of pathological use of the internet, specifically the social network known as FACEBOOK in students of the degree program in clinical psychology at a public university. It is important to locate if there is a correlation between the use that is being given to the internet, specifically

to social networks (Facebook) and if it generates conditions of pathological use of the internet, since this may contribute to the formative processes in the students, this aiming to dimension these factors in their impact within the community in which they are located. The graduate profile of the degree program in clinical psychology of the public in which the present study was conducted requires particular characteristics of social skills of its graduates so it is necessary to analyze whether the students of said program, presenting some type of use Internet pathological decrease their social skills essential for the exercise of the program.

Investigating the type of use that is given in search of a relationship with its formative process implies implicitly a metacognitive learning about its insertion, as well as an awareness of its own role in its formation. It is imperative that the new teacher model that seeks to favor the meaning of learning, incorporate technologies into its methods, however the requirement goes further when it is not involved in the type of use that is being given by students. It is important to recognize the way in which the internet contributes or hinders in the formation of basic skills in the exercise of psychology. It begins by posing the problem, justifying its reason, pointing out the paradigm to be used, as well as the objectives that it poses, with the hypothesis that the pathological use of said network is related to the decrease in social skills expected for a clinical psychologist.
