Abstract

Atmospheric corrosion of carbon and weathering steels in marine environments has been widely studied by several authors in different regions of the world. In this paper, we report a compilation of several studies on carbon and weathering steels exposed to the tropical marine environment of Fort Sherman, Panama Caribbean coast and in urban sites of Panama. Special attention is paid to short term kinetics corrosion and the products formed.
