With the aim to determine the trophic structure of functional feeding groups of aquatic insect communities in the river Tribique, a total of three sampling stations were established along the river. At each sampling station, the sampling effort unit took an hour. The sampling processes were carried out from February to April, 2014. A “D” net (500 ?m) was used to scan all habitats within the sampling stations. Also, some entomological tweezers for bugs that were on rocks and litter were likewise used. In total,1,285aquatic insects were collected; these were distributed in 8 orders, 41 families and 67 genera. In terms of abundance and wealth, predators dominated the river with 27 genera and302 (23.5%) individuals (H’=2.67).The largest biomass (dry weight), on a river scale, of the functional feeding groupswas provided by predators with1.8497 g, which represents 60% of the total.
