Abstract

According to the information gathered by the author, and unpublished data, historical   distribution and new records of the hog-nosed skunk (Conepatus semistriatus) for   Panama are presented, and ita historic distribution is discussed. These records extend   the known distribution of this species from western, provinces of Bocas del Toro   and Chiriqui, to central Panama, near the Panama Canal Watershed. A new   distribution map for this species is proposed, and unconfirmed records from the   Azuero Peninsula and the western region of the Province of Panama are presented.
