This article addresses the pivotal theme of clean energy within the context of the IX Summit of the Americas, underscoring the significance of this type of energy as a central axis for sustainable development in the hemisphere. The role of the Organization of American States (OAS) is highlighted as a promoter of policies and strategies that encourage the adoption of renewable energies and the reduction of dependence on fossil fuels. The discussion centers on the pressing need for an energy transition that not only responds to the challenges of climate change but also fosters economic opportunities and social equity. The commitments made by member countries, the proposed strategies, and the challenges faced by the region as a whole in implementing a cleaner and more efficient energy model are examined. The analysis reveals that, despite significant challenges such as the required initial investment and infrastructure, there are clear advantages in promoting clean energy, including job creation, energy security, and improvements in public health. The OAS emerges as a vital platform for regional cooperation, the exchange of best practices, and the mobilization of technical and financial resources. The article concludes that the transition towards clean energy is an unavoidable priority for the Americas, with the OAS playing a leading role in this collective effort. The importance of joint action and the implementation of the Summit's resolutions to achieve sustainability and prosperity goals in the region is emphasized.
