Abstract

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) by professors is an urgent requirement to update higher education teaching to the changes that are taking place in the economic, social, scientific, technological and educational environment of the 21st century. This work includes the results of the information obtained from a survey administered to 46 professors at the School of Natural and Exact Sciences and Technology. The information analysis allows us to affirm that there is little resistance to using ICT. In addition, some professors have knowledge of various tools and use them in their classes. About 50% of the professors have the basic equipment, but they are only able to handle a limited amount of software for didactic purposes. The collected information also shows a lack of knowledge on essential administrative management aspects that could accelerate the process of integration and use of ICTs in the educational field.
