Teaching institutions have realized that it is necessary to use new and propositive tools to train students to interact with this type of instruments to make them more competitive and facilitate their learning. The objective of the investigation was to determine the possibilities in the management of virtual worlds as a training environment in the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Communications of the University of Panama according to gender. A survey was used to verify the use of virtual worlds as a training environment. The use of virtual worlds and the possibilities of using them as a training environment indicates that there is much willingness to use this environment in the University of Panama. The Faculty of Informatics, Electronics and Communications is a reliable sample that studies at this level should be given. All this implies that the study programs and modalities must be adapted in order to be able to work with a pilot plan.
