The objective was to characterize the milk cattle explorations from Tort´? (Eastern Panama county) and some counties from Dari´en. The study, carried out transversally from January to December 2016, was designed in order to estimate the productivity of the farm and identify the level of sustainability of the counties involved. The chosen variables were identified from the dimensions: social, technological and environmental. In each dimension, three groups were established in an arbitrary way and the variables that influenced their formation were identified (ANOVA, p?0.05). The result was homogenized in order to determine the regional behavior according to the counties. The data were described using measures of central tendency and variability. The Principal Components Analysis (PCA) was carried out to identify the relationship of the factors that determined the productive efficiency of the farms. The homogenization of the groups was graphically represented. All the analyzes were carried out using the statistical environment R. The results allowed to infer that it is a region of recent milk exploration, with low milk productivity. The environmental dimension is compromised in the farms evaluated, verifying also the need for technological improvements of the facilities (in terms of animal feed and milk production) and the increase in the level of schooling of the owners.
