Abstract

The recent social and economic problems resulting from the development of mining projects in the national territory; the lack of baselines of environmental information that allow scientific answers to the national community, on the relevance or otherwise of a mining project in a certain area of the country, and the little or no participation of the communities in defining their economic future, constitute In general terms, the true motivation aroused in this group of researchers is the need to provide the country with innovative ideas that allow, through participatory research, to provide answers and solutions to rural communities such as Quema and La Pitaloza, which are discussed in the uncertainty caused by the establishment of mining developments in their environment. In this sense, the study could determine the negative perception of the residents of Quema and La Pitaloza before the development of possible mining projects in their communities; allowing to obtain by means of scientific methodology data that sustain a first measurement of the feeling of the Panamanians before this type of projects.
