Abstract

It is necessary to ensure the quality of water by reducing pathogenic microorganisms using technology as free radical generation by UV light and the oxide of titanium, therefore the objective of this research was to determine the capacity reduction of coliforms and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, using TiO2 /UV ICE 15 Purifier system. The research was based on the implementation of a computer cleaner ECO Purifier TiO2/UV ICE 15, coupled with a reactor of oxide of titanium and UVC lamp whose dimensions are 1000 mm in length, which was connected to a tank of 55 gallons of water, inoculated with 2 strains: Pseudomonas aeruginosa and e. coli, at a concentration 10 9, the purification system edge bander to thirty minutes, one to two hours, to sample before and after implementation of the Purifier system. Results of microbiological analysis showed a 100% removal of e. coli, after applying the Eco Purifier TiO2 /UV, and with respect to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, determined the 99.9% of the removal from the 109 concentration. It is concluded that Eco Purifier TiO2 /UV, ensures the removal of microorganisms.
