The objective of this research was to validate Graphic Design students' perceptions of the use of educational blogs as a support for the teaching-learning process. A type of research based on technological innovation, called design-based research, was chosen, with an emphasis on process development (primarily ICT-mediated teaching strategies).
Students perceived the blog as interesting, innovative, and easy to use. They valued its dynamic presentation with audiovisual and hypertext elements and the use of colloquial language. Positive feedback was received from the knowledge that the information received from the blog was authored by the instructors. However, there was some resistance to leaving comments on the blog and a preference for it to be published at least every two weeks. There was some resistance to commenting on the blog, so grading is required, as this helps strengthen digital skills, develop critical thinking, and ensure that they actually read the blog. This research serves as a basis for future research that will further assess students' understanding of topics taught through hypertext tools, such as blogs. This research serves as a basis for future research that will further assess students' understanding of topics taught through hypertext tools, such as blogs.
