The text that is presented as a scientific article is the product of the completion of an academic project in the Doctorate in Education that its authors are currently pursuing. We worked from the Project Based Learning methodology applied to the area of curricular design that is related to internal congruence between study plans. A documentary investigation of the guidelines referring to the New Mexican School in Secondary Education and the Normal and Teacher Training Schools was carried out, after carrying out a comparative analysis, it was determined that there is an internal congruence between both proposals in relation to curricular flexibility. to the use of active learning methodologies and participation in the co-design of their programs. It was found that in the Normal Schools there are structural and content differences between the 2018 and 2022 plans, so the implementation of a compensatory workshop course is proposed for the students to analyze the pillars of the New Mexican School and its most important guidelines. in addition to reflecting on its articulating axes and the way in which these are integrated into the reality of the participants and their community.
