Gabriela Mistral's poetry shows an intellectual characteristic with an inclination towards mythical and amorous themes, which are the result of a life full of contradictions. However, careful reading can show that her poems are easy to understand, because they are well constructed in their structure and, in addition, they contain a lot of human content, which allows for different types of linguistic and literary analysis. The purpose of this article is to identify the thematic, semantic, phonetic and morphological connections or changes present in Mistral's poetry and to demonstrate that their use creates a deep structure of the meaning of poetry. This study is classified as a qualitative, documentary, linguistic and literary research because some poems are analyzed or interpreted in terms of themes or social phenomena that can influence the feelings or mood of any person, such as love and death. The results show that the analysis of the semantic, phonetic and morphological connections that occur in the guts of the verses of the poems Ausencia and El Regreso has allowed evidence of the enrichment of musicality, rhythm and cohesion that has occurred in her poetic discourse. It is concluded that in Gabriela Mistral's poems there is a great variety of human contents and a wide range of structures, which allows fruitful literary and linguistic study.
