This study informs about species of bats registered in two zones of mangrove swamps in the Gulf of Chiriqui, Republic of Panama. Bats were captured during dry season in 2016 and during the dry and rainy season of 2017. The objective of the study was to characterize Chiroptera fauna in the mangrove swamps, and to contribute with the knowledge of these animals in this type of forest.Bats were captured by using mist nets of 2.5 m in height X 12 m long, capturing 455 specimens belonging to 25 species and five families, where Phyllostomidae covered 19 species (88% of the species). Other families seen were: Emballonuridae (1 species), Noctilionidae (1 species), Mormoopidae (1 species) y Vespertilionidae with three species. The most abundant species were: Artibeus jamaicensis, Desmodus rotundus, Carollia perspicillata y Glossophaga soricina that covered 80.33% of the catches.
