This study was carried out with the objective of knowing the effect of the Chiron 400 herbicide on the abundance and diversity of Collembolas, in a corn crop. In the study, a total of 33517 individuals were collected; 11912 correspond to the corn cultivation area without the application of the herbicide and 21605 correspond to the area where the herbicide was applied. The most abundant families, in the area where the herbicide was applied were Isotomidae and Onychiuridae; while in the area without the application of the herbicide were Isotomidae and Entomobryidae. The results suggest that the treatment with the herbicide only affected four families of Collembola.
