This literature review addresses mathematics learning challenges in rural 8th and 9th-grade students. Through a comprehensive analysis of studies and literature, causes and consequences are identified, emphasizing the importance of addressing these issues. The proposal introduces the use of the CogniFit platform as an innovative solution to enhance learning, discussing key considerations for its implementation. The research aims to create a didactic proposal in a rural institution in Tolima, Colombia, incorporating new educational trends. The goal is to improve academic performance and results in "Assess to Advance" exams. During the pandemic, virtual strategies led to deviations and decreased interest in mathematics, especially in rural settings. The project aims to foster mathematical thinking in the "Berlín - Ataco - Tolima" institution, with activities in a digital ecosystem. CogniFit has shown promising results in improving academic performance and cognitive skills. In conclusion, this article and proposal seek to transform mathematics education in rural settings, bridging learning gaps, and empowering students to achieve academic success.
