This research article examines and critical reflects on the use of Cuban patriotic music as an educational tool on university radio in the province of Mayabeque. Through a mixed methodological approach, it diagnoses the current radio programming, evaluates university students’ perceptions of this thematic category, and proposes a university extension strategy to revitalize its presence in the media. The results reveal a low representation of patriotic content on the radio, but a strong interest among young people in connecting music with national history. The study concludes that university radio can play a key role in promoting cultural identity and historical memory through the systematic use of patriotic music.
