Abstract

The University of Panama is a fundamental engine of development, promoting knowledge and innovation nationwide. Its influence in the agricultural sector is notable. This progress is evident in the province of Los Santos, where the application of research and academic contributions have provided direct benefits to local productive progress. The objective of this bibliographic review was to highlight the contributions to the agricultural sector generated by research conducted at the University of Panama in the province of Los Santos.

 

 

 

 

 

The study was conducted using the results of 70 published references in the form of reports, theses, and research articles related to agricultural production in the province of Los Santos over the past 35 years. The study focuses on all the contributions that the University of Panama has made to the province's agricultural sector, ranging from studies on aspects of productivity growth, health protection, and education associated with the main sectors. It is concluded that the University of Panama has become an important pillar for the development of the agricultural sector in the province of Los Santos, integrating traditional technology with new trends in modernization within the agricultural sector.
